Our royal neighbour Prince Charles lives nearby at Highgrove and the Highgrove shop in Long Street is fast becoming a pilgrimage for visitors to Tetbury. Exclusive and discreet you will receive the warm welcome and friendly service that you would expect from a privately owned residence. In your room will be will be delicious home baked cakes, scones and a complimentary gift.
Recently re-designed, the jewel-like interiors are a visual feast featuring a stunning art collection together with precious trinkets collected from world travels. All this set against an irreverent mix of traditional and contemporary styling where the finest quality antiques and classic furniture meet throughout. The owner Gary Kennedy studied fine art at Saint Martin’s School of Art and is a celebrated interior designer and art collector (featured on TV and in many magazines in the UK and overseas).

Location
Oak House No.1 enjoys a great location in the market town of Tetbury in the heart of the Cotswolds. Prince Charles lives nearby at High grove and his flagship store The Highgrove shop has recently opened in Tetbury. This small boutique hotel has been created by renowned interior designer Gary Kennedy who has filled the house with his stunning art collection. Recently re-designed this little gem has an eclectic mix of antiques, designer furniture & artefacts from Gary's travels. The backdrop of contemporary & traditional styling along with personal & friendly service creates a really welcoming & warm atmosphere, which has recently attracted quite a celebrity following including rock stars to royalty.
From London
Head west on the M4, exit on junction 17 and head north on the A429 Direction Cirencester. After about 7 miles turn left onto the B4014 signed Tetbury. Follow the road about 4 miles into the village, at the mini roundabout turn right into Chipping Street. The Chipping is the Georgian Square on your right after 50 yards. Oak House No.1 is found in the right hand corner.
From Bristol & The West
Head east on the M4, exit from junction 18,taking the A46 north towards Stroud. After about 6 miles bear right onto the A433 signed Cirencester and Tetbury. Follow the road for 7 miles into the village of Tetbury. At the mini Roundabout go straight on into Chipping Street. The Chipping is the Georgian Square on your right after 50 yards. Oak House No.1 is found in the right hand corner.
From M5 & North
Take junction 11A the A417 to Cirencester, after about 11 miles take the exit to Cirencester. Follow signs towards Stroud and Tetbury, take the A429 Tetbury road and then Continue on the A433 into Tetbury. At the top of Long Street turn left at the mini Roundabout into Chipping Street. The Chipping is the Georgian square on your Right after 50 yards. Oak House No.1 is found in the right hand corner.

There are 4 rooms at Oak House No.1; Garden View Suite; this is a very private suite with a pretty garden view. If you are looking for a room with soft, neutral colours and a luxurious contemporary designer bathroom, then this is the perfect choice. The Cavalier Suite has 2 double bedrooms which include The Library bedroom. A stunning large contemporary bathroom serves both rooms or The Cavalier bedroom if taken on its own. The Prince's Suite has a wonderfully extravagant super king size 4 poster bed with some traditional English antiques and colourful modern art. The bathroom is full of designer details including Philippe Starke taps and a built-in TV that can be watched while soaking in Molton Brown bubbles. Indulgence is the name of the game at Oak House No.1, taking only 8 guests at any one time, it can offer a bespoke service for each guest.
All of the bedrooms as this small boutique hotel have the finest Frette or Ralph Lauren bedlinen, cashmere throws, complimentary WIFI, full SKY TV, Ipod docking station as well as a fridge and safe in each suite.

Gourmet Dining
Breakfast is served in the lavish Dining room where guests almost feel like royalty. Only the best bone china and silver are used in the dining room alongside beautiful crystal glassware. On the surrounding walls hang original Warhol pictures alongside antique gold gilt framed paintings.

We supply luxury hampers containing everything you would need for a great picnic day out (for 2,4,6 or 8 people). Please contact us for details and if you want us to include special things we will be happy to source these for you, just let us know when booking your room.
The 6 person hamper (pictured right) shows some of our goodies. To ensure the highest quality produce, seasonal variations may occur.
The 6 person luxury hamper includes:
- 2 bottles of Moet & Chandon Champagne
- 1 bottle of wine red, white or rose

- Smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis with fresh herbs

Booking Policy
- Rates at Oak House No.1 are per room per night including taxes and breakfast and delicious afternoon tea/home-baked cakes & scones on arrival.
- Check in is from 3pm, check out by 11am. Children 11 and over are welcome in the Library Bedroom when rented as part of the Cavalier Suite, max of 2 children.
- A deposite of 50% of the total booking is taken at the time of booking and 50% on departure.
Cancellation Policy
- All cancellations must be received in writing. More than 14 days prior to arrival, no charge. 14 days or less prior to arrival 100% charge.
